Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. K.Rosaiah Inaugurated the 350 bed Multi Specialty hospital at L.B.Nagar, Hyderabad on 11th October '09, in the august presence of Telugu Desam president Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu and senior BJP leader Mr. M.Venkaiah Naidu.
The Chief Guests stressed the need for the private sector to provide affordable healthcare to the common man, while supplementing the Government’s efforts in expanding medical services. The leaders praised Chairman and Managing Director of the Global Hospital group K. Ravindranath for providing super-speciality procedures at a significantly low cost, compared with hospitals abroad.
Prof. Mohamed Rela, the world-renowned liver transplant surgeon, Head of the Department of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery Global Hospitals Chennai & Hyderabad, was felicitated and presented with a Memento, by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, for his various feats in the field of Liver Transplant all over the world and now in India.

The department of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT conducted a CME cum Post graduate training programme on the recent developments of Nuclear Imaging on 8th August 2009. Our key speakers included Dr B.A. Krishna and Dr Venkatesh Rangarajan, both eminent senior nuclear medicine physicians from leading institutions in Mumbai who delivered lectures on the various clinical applications of PET-CT in both oncological and non oncological conditions. 85 doctors including 50 post graduate students from various medical colleges across Chennai and neighbouring districts like chengalpattu and vellore participated in the seminar. |

| Endoscopic Approaches to the Brain & Spine Camp on 26 July 2009 |

The institute of Neuro-Science and Spinal Disorders, Global Hospitals and Health City organized a day long scientific program on minimal access Endoscopic surgery of Brain and Spinal Disorders here on Sunday (July 26th 2009). The symposium was held in association with launch of such a faculty at the hospital.
Dr.J.K.B.C. Parthiban, Head of Department and organizing Chairman of the conference emphasised the value of minimally access surgery.
The conference was attended by 150 Neuro-Surgeons and Ortho-Paedics Surgeons from all over the country.
Dr.Jaochim Oertel, Germany and Dr.Sathish Chandra Gore, Pune participated as faculty members.
The Chairman Dr.K.Ravindranath highlighted the infra structure and the latest equipments available at the Neuro-Science and Spinal Disorders Centre at Global Hospitals. |

| ENTCON2009 on 4th & 5th July |

Dr.K.Krishna Kumar, Senior Consultant, Institute of ENT, Head & Neck surgery organized “GLOBAL ENTCON 2009”, one of the largest national conference on advances in the field of Otorhinolaryngology on 4th & 5th July 2009. This conference was presided over by Padmashree Dr.Mohan Kameswaran, pioneer in the field of ENT in India. Conference had scientific sessions and live surgeries which were performed by senior ENT surgeons from all over India. Around 150 participants from various parts of India attended the Conference. |

The Department of Laboratory Medicine celebrated Medical Laboratory Professionals Week from 18 to 25 April 2009.
The CME program conducted on 18th April 2009 for laboratory technologists and laboratory managers covered a wide range of topics that are common, current and important to the technologist in routine bench work. The workshops by Dr Vivekanandan S, Dr Sujatha Chandrasekaran, Dr Elizabeth George, Dr Rani R provided hands-on training in specific topics in Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Histopathology. |

| CME and Mega Medical Camp at Nellore |

CME was organized in association with IMA, Nellore on 20th June, 2009. Dr. K. Ravindranath , CMD of Global Hospitals & Health City presided over the function and 120 doctors from Nellore, Thirupathi and neighbouring areas participated in it. Our key speakers included

Mega Multispeciality Camp was organized at Nellore on 21st of June 2009. Mr. Anam. Ramanarayana Reddy, Honourable Minister for Municipality, Mr. Mungamaru Sridhara Krishna Reddy, Nellore Town MLA & Dr. K. Ravindranath ,CMD, Global Hospitals inaugurated the camp. Consultation, Medicines and tests like ECG, ECHO and Blood Sugar were offered free of cost. Procedures and surgeries at subsidized rates benefitted around 500 patients at the camp. |

Global Hospitals and Health City organized MASICON 2009 (Minimal Access Surgery International Conference), one of the largest international conferences on “Laparoscopic Surgery on Upper GI” on March 28 and 29. Organized by Dr. John A.C. Thanakumar, Senior Consultant, Department of Minimal Access and Bariatric Surgery, Global Hospitals' first international conference had workshops, live surgery and scientific sessions. The speakers from Israel, Singapore, Dubai, Korea and Bulgaria graced the occasion and around 200 participants from various parts of India and Sri Lanka attended the Conference. |
